The famous Warts are caused by a virus,  ( HPV 2 and 4 are the most common ones)

They are very frequent in children older than 3, but their greater impact is among boys and girls from 12 to 16 years old.

They are well delimited papulles with an irregular and rough surface.

They can be found frequently in the fingers, but also in knees, in the soles of the feet, in the genitals, though its appearence can cover any part of the body.

There exist many kinds of treatment for this pathology, but before starting with any of them it is necessary to know that more than 30% disappear without any treatment during the first 6 months, approximately 50% in a period of 2 years  and almost all of them from 3 to 4 years after the appearance of the first symptoms.

The following drugs are used for its treatment: Salicylic Acid (3 -5%), Glutaraldehyde Solution at 10%. Lactic Acid at 16,7 %, Cryotherapy and, in cases where they are widespread and where there is an aesthetic need, a surgery to remove them can be performed in older children.

The kind and location are essential for the treatment.

There is a certain emotional predisposition in the patient to favour their appearance.

Warts in the genitals can be treated with Salicylic Acid, cryotherapy or Podophyllin (5-15%) twice a week and being applied strictly by a trained professional.

In case the professional prescribes a topical treatment, due care must be taken so as not to treat healthy skin, in order to prevent irritations.

The purpose of the treatment must neither be aggressive as to the point of leaving scars, nor must it just minimize the symptoms.
